University Program: Student Records and Access

Jones/NCTI courses receive college credit through Arapahoe Community College (ACC) and are recorded in the ACC student records. Most Jones/ NCTI courses are accredited and can be transferred to other colleges.
Knowing how to access student records is important for Jones/NCTI students. It helps students to understand their student status and keep track of their courses, enrollment and completion dates, and grades.
A student transcript is an important document that reflects student records, college credit, and grade point average. There are two types of transcripts: official and unofficial. Official transcripts are sent to colleges, and unofficial transcripts serve as proof of course completions.

Student College Credit

There are two types of Jones/NCTI students: active and inactive. Jones/NCTI student status is determined by ACC.
Active students are those who have completed a Jones/NCTI course in the last 12 months and are enrolled at ACC.
Inactive students are those who have not completed a Jones/NCTI course in the last 12 months or more. They will need to activate their status by completing an accredited course with Jones/NCTI.
Students who have completed a Jones/NCTI course accredited by ACC after Jan. 1, 1998, are automatically enrolled at ACC. For those students, Jones/NCTI courses taken prior to 1998 are transferred to ACC for credit and will appear on ACC records. Any subsequent accredited courses taken will automatically receive credit at ACC upon successful completion.
As of June 1, 2007, Jones/NCTI curriculum and college credit requirements changed for the Broadband Technical Management Degree, Broadband Business Management Degree, Broadband Telephony Technical Management Certificate, Broadband Customer Service Representative Certificate and the Broadband Technical Services Representative Certificate. In addition, Jones/NCTI added four new certificates; Broadband Business Management Certificate, HFC Networks Technician Certificate, Networking Technician Certificate and Customer Premises Technician Certificate. For more information on how this may impact students, please contact the Jones/NCTI College Program.

Student Records and Access

When a student completes an accredited course, Jones/NCTI sends all of the course records to Arapahoe Community College electronically. These records automatically enroll Jones/NCTI students at ACC. It takes approximately two weeks for the course to be processed and appear on the student records at ACC.
Access to Student Records through Jones/NCTI
In order to complete the enrollment process at ACC, Jones/NCTI provides ACC with a student's name, address, social security or student number, and course information. If students are not sure which Jones/NCTI courses they completed, they may consult Jones/NCTI student records. Information on how to access the records is provided at www.nctionline.com. If students experience difficulties, they can contact a Jones/NCTI Customer Care representative at (303) 797-9393.
Access to Student Records through ACC
Students can access their records through ACC Student Records as well. To log on, use your ACC student ID number (known as your S#, not your social security number) and your six-digit birthday (mm/dd/yy) as your personal identification number (PIN). If you experience any difficulties accessing your records, you may contact ACC Admissions and Records office at (303) 797-5624 for assistance. How do I get my Student ID number (my S#)? If you do not know your S#, e-mail the Admissions and Records Office at admissions@arapahoe.edu with the following information:
  • Full Name (first, middle, last)
  • Date of birth
  • Address and telephone number
ACC will e–mail your S# to you after they receive and confirm this information.

Transcripts

Once students complete a course with Jones/NCTI, they may obtain transcripts as proof of Jones/NCTI course completion and grade received. If students are transferring their Jones/NCTI courses to a specific college, they can obtain a transcript from ACC.
