Anyone in the broadband industry
is eligible to participate in the University Program.
Jones/NCTI offers two associate's degrees
and eleven certificates for technical, customer service, marketing, and
management personnel:
The first step is to obtain a college
program brochure for details on courses and credits required. Read
the degree and certificate descriptions to determine the right one for
you, then take the courses for that certificate or degree.
Once you decide on a course, you
can mail a completed course

Jones/NCTI will send course materials within
24 hours of receiving payment.
Arapahoe Community College is a comprehensive
and fully accredited community college. ACC is NCTI's partner in education.
NCTI and ACC have designed an accredited distance-learning program that
matches a degreed education with career training. NCTI and ACC jointly
develop general education courses, and ACC accredits NCTI courses, issues
transcripts, and awards certificate and degree diplomas to NCTI students.

Yes, Jones/NCTI also provides access to bachelor's and master's
degrees through its sister company, Jones International University® (JIU®), a fully online, accredited
university. Jones/NCTI students can be admitted to JIU with a completed Associate of General Studies (AGS)
degree, or transfer existing credits prior to completing the AGS. JIU's degree programs cover business
communication, education, and business administration, each with multiple areas of specialization,
as follows:

- Bachelor of Arts in Business Communication
- Master of Business Administration (MBA)
- Master of Arts in Business Communication
- Master of Education
Each college has different college
transfer guides, and it is the student's responsibility to understand
and follow them.

In January 1998, NCTI and Arapahoe
Community College (ACC) entered into a partnership that allows broadband
cable industry employees to receive college credits for NCTI courses When
you complete an accredited Jones/NCTI course, you automatically earn credit
at ACC. If you completed an approved Jones/NCTI course before 1998, your previous
credit is also transferred to ACC upon completion of a new course. To
see which Joens/ NCTI courses are approved for college credit, please visit the
Degrees and Certificates section.

You can check the number of college credits you've earned by accessing your student records through ACC. To log on, use your ACC student ID number (known as your S#, not your social security number) and your six-digit birthday (mm/dd/yy) as your personal identification number (PIN). If you experience any difficulties accessing your records, you may contact ACC Admissions and Records office at (303) 797-5624 for assistance.
Occasionally, degree requirements
change. You will be allowed, however, to go by the requirements listed
in any catalog published while you were a student, with the following
conditions:

I am taking
(PC Applications XP & 2003, Business Communications, Stress Management) where are my lessons on the NCTI website?
Your course is actually hosted on ACC's
website called WebCT. These courses are four months in length, and weekly assignments
are required. The courses interact with instructors and are not self-paced.
Extensions are not allowed.

Many of the General Education requirements
are available through Jones/NCTI. For ACC specific courses, please see below:
1. From the home page, www.arapahoe.edu, Click on this link: MyCommunity EDUCATION
to access the system (the ED System).

2. Enter your User ID.

3. The password (PIN) for the first time
you access the system will be your six–digit birthday entered in the MMDDYY format.

4. On the MAIN MENU screen,
select STUDENT

5. To register for and look up courses, select ADD OR DROP CLASSES.
— Select the term you want to register for from the drop-down menu; for example: COMMUNITY COLLEGE SUMMER 2007or COMMUNITY COLLEGE FALL 2007.
— You are now on the ADD OR DROP CLASSES screen.

6. If you know the CRN (the Course Reference Number, formerly known as the call number) for a course, you may enter the CRNs in the ADD CLASSES WORKSHEET section of this screen.
— After you enter the CRNs for the classes you want, select the SUBMIT CHANGES button to register for these classes.

7. If you do not have the CRNs and/or need to look up courses, select the CLASS SEARCH button at the bottom of the screen, below the ADD CLASSES WORKSHEET section.
8. In the SEARCH BY SCHOOL drop-down menu, select ARAPAHOE COMMUNITY COLLEGE, then select the SUBMIT button.
— Select the term you want to register for from the drop-down TERM menu; for example: COMMUNITY COLLEGE SUMMER 2007or COMMUNITY COLLEGE FALL 2007, then select the SUBMIT button.

9. On the LOOK UP CLASSES SCREEN, select the information for the class you want, for example SUBJECT: Biology and Course Number: 090.
— Select the CLASS SEARCH button at the bottom of the screen.

10. Select the box in front of the Course Reference Number (CRN) and select the ADD TO WORKSHEET button.
— You must register for one course at a time if you are searching for courses.
— Repeat the process for looking up and selecting checkboxes for the classes you want.
— When you are done, select the SUBMIT CHANGES button at the bottom of the screen to register for these classes.

11. Remember that you MUST select the REGISTER button when you use CRNs to select classes, or select the SUBMIT CHANGES button when you look up classes, to officially register.
12. Click on RETURN TO MENU at the top of the screen to look at your complete schedule and confirm it is accurate.
— Print a SCHEDULE OF CLASSES to make sure you have a copy for your records.

13. When you are reviewing your schedule, if you need to drop a course, select DROP WEB from the drop-down menu under the ACTION button.

Yes, in most cases, you can transfer
your Jones/NCTI/ACC courses from ACC to another institution. However, the courses
that are accepted and the number of credits granted is ultimately decided
by the receiving school. ACC is accredited by the North Central Association
of Colleges and Schools, so most colleges and universities will acknowledge
NCTI/ACC credits. To transfer your courses to another institution, you
will need to obtain an official transcript from ACC by completing an ACC
transcript request form. If you completed your NCTI courses prior
to 1998 only, please complete an Jones/NCTI
transcript request form.
Prior to pursuing a college certificate or degree, Jones/NCTI strongly recommends you read the transfer policies and procedures for any institution that you are involving in the transfer of college credits, including Arapahoe Community College. Each college has different transfer guidelines, and
it is student’s responsibility to understand and follow them.
Your transcripts can be issued either by Jones/NCTI
or ACC. If you are transferring your Jones/NCTI courses to a specific college, and have
completed a credit-approved NCTI course after 1998, it is best to obtain a transcript from ACC.

you will not be able to obtain ACC transcripts, but can request a Jones/NCTI transcript.

Can I transfer
courses from another institution and apply them to my Jones/NCTI degree or certificates?
Yes, you can transfer courses from
another institution toward your Jones/NCTI/ACC degree or certificates, but only
if your student status is active. You need to have the institution send
your official transcripts to:

ACC will evaluate your
transcript and will inform you about their decision in approximately eight to ten weeks. It is not guaranteed
that any or all of your courses will be accepted.

NCTI students who complete their
college degree or certificate requirements are eligible to receive college
diplomas, issued by Arapahoe Community College (ACC), at the end of the
summer, winter, and spring semesters. Students who complete degrees or
certificates are also eligible to participate in ACC's graduation ceremony.
Students are responsible for sending
the graduation application to ACC.
ACC encourages you to file your graduation
application the semester before you plan to graduate. The graduation application
must be filled out completely and submitted with $25 payable to
Arapahoe Community College by the appropriate dateline date:

If the graduation application is
received by the above deadlines, ACC will send the certificate or diploma at the end of each semester.
The graduation ceremony is held every year at ACC
in Littleton, Colo., about twelve miles from Jones/NCTI. All Jones/NCTI students graduating
during the academic year are welcome to attend this graduation. To participate in the
ceremony, students need to submit applications for graduation before the appropriate
deadline (above), and submit a commencement participation form to ACC by the appropriate deadline.

How do I get my Student ID number (my S#)? If you do
not know your S#, e-mail the Admissions and Records Office at admissions@arapahoe.edu with the following information:
- Full Name (first, middle, last)
- Date of birth
- Address and telephone number
ACC will e-mail your S# to you after they receive and confirm this information.
